Scotland Wilder Ways Crossing Kintyre

Overview

If you loved the idea of the Ultimate Adventure Week, Crossing Kintyre takes it even further — it’s a brand-new, bold expedition that literally rides across the wild length of the Kintyre Peninsula, offering Scotland’s most thrilling week on horseback. It’s designed for confident, adventurous riders who want a true exploration holiday, not just a trail ride.

This week is all about frontier riding — from misty heathery hills and secret woodlands to windswept beaches and rolling farmland. Each day you’ll move your journey forward, riding point-to-point across a dramatic, narrow stretch of land that’s never more than a few miles wide, yet packed with stunning coastal views and unspoiled wilderness. You’ll climb hillsides with views out to sea, race along golden sand, splash through shallow water and discover hidden glens few visitors ever see. It’s riding designed to bring you closer to your horse and further into the wilds than you ever thought possible.

The experience is crafted to grow your confidence and deepen your horsemanship. Journeys like this aren’t just about seeing amazing scenery — they’re about building trust with your horse as you face varied terrain together, from quiet forest tracks to open coastal panoramas.

Riding & Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive at the farm (check in from 4pm) in time to settle before dinner at 7pm. Relax into your surroundings and let the banter start flowing. Share your own horse history and set your wish list for the trip.

Days 2-7
And we’re off.  But you won’t find any spoilers here.  You will either ride south to north or north to south, and with a little east to west thrown in but where shall we go? Well, that’s the mystery. For us to know and for you to find out on the hoof.  It’ll be wild, it’ll be beautiful, it’ll be the stunning West Coast of Scotland.  We’ll climb, canter, slide, swim and snuggle with our horses.  You’ll learn to trust your steed over rough terrain and feel their strength, their willingness and their companionship. What we can confirm here and now, is that it will be an action-packed adventure full of joy and surprise, in that wild, ‘trip of a lifetime’ kind of way that Wilder Ways is known for.

Day 5
A day out of the saddle to stretch your legs but there’s no rest for the wicked.  Today you’ll embark on a mystery excursion – what can it be?

Day 8
Sadly, the end has come, it’s departure day.  After breakfast you can bid farewell to your trusty steed, the farm, the animals and us.  Until next time …
