Puesto Viejo Polo Club

Overview

Puesto Viejo Polo Club offers an unforgettable escape to the heart of Argentina’s countryside, just an hour from Buenos Aires. Set on a beautiful 250-hectare estate in the Pampas, this boutique estancia combines thrilling polo experiences with relaxed, rural charm. The landscape is wide and open, dotted with eucalyptus trees and peaceful lakes, creating a perfect backdrop for outdoor adventure or quiet retreat.

The riding here is second to none. Whether you’re completely new to polo or a seasoned player, the experience is fun, welcoming and expertly tailored. The estate is home to well-schooled polo ponies, all trained for different levels of ability, and guests are matched to the right horse with care. Bilingual instructors like Julito Casares bring a passion for the sport and a deep knowledge of horsemanship, helping riders progress quickly and enjoy every moment in the saddle. Many first-time visitors surprise themselves by taking part in a chukka by the end of their stay.

The estancia itself is full of character, furnished with antiques and local touches, and the hospitality is personal and genuine. Hosts and staff are known for their friendly nature, and communal dining and fireside chats quickly make you feel at home. Guests can unwind by the infinity pool overlooking the polo fields, enjoy a glass of Malbec on the veranda, or take a walk through the peaceful grounds.

Beyond polo, there’s plenty to do. Guests can explore the estate on horseback or by bicycle, have a jumping lesson, go birdwatching, take a dip in the pool, or simply enjoy the quiet and natural beauty of the Pampas.

Originally part of a working cattle farm, Puesto Viejo has grown into a celebrated destination for travellers looking to combine sport, culture and countryside in one enriching experience. It’s the perfect place to fall in love with polo, relax in elegant rural surroundings, and soak up the laid-back Argentine lifestyle.
