MONGOLIA
Mongolia Express
Overview
A short and intense adventure in Mongolia where you will spend five and a half days of the trip riding through the beautiful and wild landscapes. Explore Mongolian steppes, forests and valleys as you venture far from the tourist areas. Spend time with nomadic families and herders, learning about their traditional way of live and stay a night in one of their guest yurts.
The beauty of Mongolia is the limitless, vast and intact nature, punctuated by white yurts and Buddhist temples. If you have no fear of rough tracks and wilderness, Mongolia is for you!
Due to the terrain and very low population density, the routes can be long and tiring with bumps along the way, however, this is all part of the adventure. This is a landscape barely touched by tourism. There are no hotels outside of Ulaanbataar.

Riding & Itinerary
Day 1
Your English speaking translator is waiting for you at Ulan Bator airport at the arrival of Turkish Airline flight for a grouped transfer. Immediate departure for the Mongolian Steppe! A short 1.5 hours drive takes you to the endless plains dotted with the yurts of the nomadic herders. The first herds of horses roaming free cross the road in front of your vehicle. Here you are, in Mongolia. Lunch at the yurt camp. Spend the evening with a family of nomads, discovering their traditional way of life and the famous yurt, called a ger in Mongolia. For this first night in Mongolia, you will sleep in a yurt camp in the wilderness. Up to 4 riders per yurt – showers in a separate building.
Days 2 - 6
5 days on horseback in the typical lanscapes of Central Mongolia.
For this ride, we have selected the horses of a breeder who takes part in many Naadam races. He is a member of the Mongolian Equestrian Federation. His horses are fast and have endurance, although not always race horses. Guided by a nomadic herder, with the help of your English speaking translator, you will ride through steppes, hill and valleys, together with small mountains covered in larch forests. Many nomadic families live in this region, with their yurts and their herds of horses, cattle, goats and sheep. You will have the opportunity to see their traditional way of life. You will camp close to a nomadic family at least one night during the ride.
The pace of the ride is quite fast, as the support vehicle carries all the luggage and joins the group for lunch and at the end of the day. You do not have to carry anything on your horse, which allows long and fast gallops in this very open terrain. Dinners and nights in tents.
Day 7
Last half day on horseback in this beautiful part of Mongolia. Picnic lunch. Transfer to Ulan Bator, the rest of the afternoon is dedicated to shopping downtown, where you will find traditional clothes and other gifts. In the late afternoon, you will attend a show with traditional dances, music and songs from Mongolia, especially the amazing Khoomei. No dinner included, to let you choose among the varied dining opportunities offered by Ulan Bator. Night at Nine hotel or similar (3* – twin room).
Day 8
Breakfast and transfer to airport on time for Turkish Airlines flights.
