The farm is set amongst woodland and pasture, rich in wildflower and the perfect habitat for horses with herb rich grassland. plentiful water supply and natural shelter. it really is the most beautiful, remote and wild spot!
Your hosts, Cara and Nikki have been exploring on horseback for many years and Wilder Ways was born from their love of these adventures and a desire to bring you with them. Short Break
Day 1
Arrive at the farm late afternoon in time to settle before dinner at 7pm. Settle into your surroundings and let the banter start flowing. Share your own horse history and set your wish list for the trip.
Day 2
The trip will start with horseback archery. Nothing can prepare you for the thrill and satisfaction of shooting arrows from a running horse. It connects you to our warrior past in a way that is both instinctive and exhilarating. Spend the morning grasping the skills from the ground before you put this together onto your trusted steed in the afternoon. Although horseback archery may take a ‘lifetime to master’, the skills involved are ‘easy to learn’, allowing you to quickly get a feel for this exciting pastime.
Day 3
From arrows to obstacles, today you take some true leaps of faith – its jumping day. The morning will be spent show jumping in the arena to hone in your skills and build confidence and trust between you and our steed. In the afternoon, let loose and fully enjoy the thrill of our cross-country course – the buzz created is really very empowering for horse and rider. The whole day will be fully coached.
Day 4
Let’s kick back and head for the coast. Feel the wind in your hair and the salty, sandy air in your face as hooves thunder down the beach. There is nothing quite like the feeling of freedom and pure joy as horse and rider gun down the sand without a worry in the world. Be prepared for the taste of some of that sand as the racing heats up. This day epitomises the “Thunder of Hooves; The Pound of your Heart”. For those not comfortable with gallop, do not worry this is optional, you can still enjoy the tranquillity and sparkle of this stunning coastline. Standard departure is at the end of this day’s riding.
