This laid back horse riding holiday destination at The Winelands is known for it’s character mountains, diversity of landscape and people. As part of our Horse Riding Holidays South Africa …
Experience LevelSouth Africa is like nowhere else on earth. The great Nelson Mandela dubbed it ‘The Rainbow Nation’ because of its diversity and beauty. We are proud to bring tastes of that diversity, beauty, and much more besides in our range of horse riding holidays in South Africa, which take in both the opulent splendour of the Winelands and the rugged terrain of the safari country of the Limpopo Valley and world-famous Kruger National Park.
Our ‘The Winelands’ horse riding holiday in South Africa offers a laid-back experience amidst lush vineyards and orchards, within easy travelling time of Cape Town. Or, if your focus is on a wildlife safari instead, we have a number to choose from.
Horseback is a great place to enjoy a safari from, as you yourself are at one with nature, instead of being driven about in a machine. Your horse is in tune with his surroundings just as much as the big game and other animals you’re going out to see. It can be a safer way for a safari too – your horse will sense the danger of a hidden predator, but a jeep won’t!
Most of our safari horse riding holidays in South Africa are suitable for riders of all levels of skill and experience, but we confine one of them – at the ‘Wait a Little’ venue near Kruger National Park –to intermediate and advanced riders only. This is an added advantage to riders of those levels though, as it means that groups there are fast-paced and move forward easily.
When your time in the saddle is done, you can extend any of our horse riding holidays in South Africa with an add-on stay in charming Cape Town. Taking a cable car trip up Table Mountain and paying a visit to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was held prisoner, are among the ‘must dos’ during your time there. You can also fly north to visit the magnificent Victoria Falls, or east to enjoy tropical Mauritius – a particularly good option for a honeymoon or other such special occasion.
All of our horse riding holidays in South Africa have been personally vetted by Zara and I, so we can vouch for how well you’ll be looked after by your hosts, and how much you’ll enjoy your time there. And don’t forget our price promise – if you find the same horse riding holiday in South Africa at a lower price from any of our competitors, then we’ll refund you the difference!
We love South Africa, and we hope you get the chance to love it too.
